Job Summary
Responsible for the accurate and timely collection and maintenance of the company's product data. Supporting all business units in product data creation, standardization and clean-up efforts.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Create, maintain and update product data records within source systems.
- Analyze, validate and make necessary updates to bring standardization across product master.
- Perform basic analysis of large data sets to identify and correct data inconsistencies and anomalies.
- Responsible to review, prioritize and validate mass change requests within product master.
- Maintain and enhance Product Master Data Governance Rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), naming convention and other enterprise data standards.
- Partner with various internal departments and external product vendors for data gathering and coordination as it relates to product data.
Nature and Scope
- May modify processes to resolve situations.
- Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies. Work typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor or direct “customers” of the process
- Is sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel. Contributes to employees’ professional development but does not have hiring/firing authority.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
- Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
Education and Experience
- Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. Generally 5-7 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience, such as working with data
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Time management skills including multi0tasking capabilities & prioritization
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
- Product knowledge.
- Basic Excel skills (sort, filter, lookups)
- Experience identifying and documenting best practices
